Altered Title LO & Work

 I drug up an old pic of when I was a teenager! The journaling explains the picture and the picture is dark because it was taken at night through a window. I was out with the church youth group, we were on our way home from a youth event, it was late, and we were all acting silly! One of the girls was playing with another girl's hair outside the van.

It's titled "Crazy Hare" because we had to alter our title for a challenge on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/!






Well, tomorrow is the Grand Opening of TJ Maxx! I'm a little nervous, but shouldn't be. I work 10-9! I hate that I have to miss church, but hopefully it will only be tomorrow since it's opening day. They're supposed to have lunch & supper for us and have like a party for working opening day! I've already got my outfit picked out in my head! I just have to get it out of the closet! :) They didn't have the rest of the week's schedule yet when I went to get my check, so hopefully it will be up tomorrow. I got me a new cellphone yesterday, too! It's a Samsung Intensity with a keyboard that slides out. If anyone wants to text me, get up with me on FB or something and I'll give you my number. I have unlimited texting! Have a good Sunday! I'll let you all know how my day went tomorrow night or Monday depending on how tired I am!

Ledger LO & Potpurri

It took me awhile to get this LO going, because I wanted to find everything related to the 2 pics on the page. LOL I remember I was sick the weekend I went to Grundy Mountain Mission School, that's what the LO is of. I wrote on the notebook paper and zoomed in so you all could read the journaling. One of the pictures is dark, because it was taken inside and I didn't have a good camera at the time. The dark picture has "Home of the Challengers" on the wall, the Challengers is their mascot.

I'm going to watch American Idol tonight. It sounds like it's going to be good with Daughtry, Fantasia, and Bon Jovi singing! It's down to the final 4. I hope Crystal wins, but in 3 weeks we all should know! I tape it every Tuesday night on my DVR, because I watch The Biggest Loser. I look forward to watching the elimination night each week to see who's voted off. I also watch Dancing With the Stars on Monday night and watch Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night to see who was voted off DWTS! LOL Last night, I couldn't stay awake to watch their interview on JKL, I saw who was eliminated and went to bed. I'm getting old! When I was working at BK, I could have stayed up and watched it. Now I can't stay up past 12:30 cuz I can't stay awake like I used to! I'm trying to get my sleep pattern adjusted so that when I work at TJ Maxx, I'll be alert! I work tomorrow night 4-9 and will find out the rest of the week's schedule then. I hope they want me to work Friday-Saturday. I haven't worked since last Friday! Opening day is May 23! Anyway, I keep getting off on tangents! TFL at my LO!

Half Circle LO

 Baby Shower at Capital City Christian Church for Tammy- October 2007

This was Tammy's last baby shower before she had Tyler. She had a total of 4 baby showers! I made a scrapbook for Tyler to welcome him to the world and our family. I gave it to Tammy after he was born because I wanted to include a birth picture of Tyler in the book.  I made this LO yesterday of duplicate pictures from this shower. The challenge was to make a half circle out of patterned paper and be at least 4'' in diameter. I'm not good with cutting out circles, so I used a salad plate and traced it and cut the circle in half. I decided to use the entire circle and spread it apart. I meant to put by the letter "T" on the paper Tyler's name, I still may go back and do that! He's grown so much and hard to believe that he will be 3 in November! Time flies! It seems like just yesterday Emily and I were waiting by the phone anxious to hear he had been born!! I saw him this past weekend at Grandmama's Celebration Pig Pickin'. He had the biggest grin on his face when he saw us walk into Grandmama's house, so precious!! That made my day and the fact that he called me by name several times throughout the day! :)

My First Day of Work at TJ Maxx

Wow! I've never seen so much stuff in my life! LOL I helped unpack boxes today and put them on a cart to go to different areas in the home department. When the store opens, I'll know where everything is! I only worked 6 hours, but I sure am tired! I haven't worked in over a year, so it's gonna take some time. Once I got in a rhythm I was able to go faster and time flew by! I opened a box of nothing but 3 scrapbook albums! I was excited! LOL I'm starting to get tired and silly now that I'm winding down. I've got to get up early in the morning to go to a family reunion. Well, actually I'm taking both grandmothers their Mother's Day presents and the family reunion!

Enjoyin' A Hot Summer Day

I did these 2 LOs yesterday afternoon, but didn't have time to update my blog. I helped with supper last night at church. I helped Emily, my sister, cap and cut strawberries in half Tuesday afternoon for the supper last night. They were very good! We have some left. I made a cake with milk instead of water, because we had too much milk in the refrigerator. I learned I won't do that again! The milk made the cake stay in a mold form, instead of rising. Luckily, Emily was working Tuesday night and could get us an Angel Food Cake to make up for the flopped cake!

Tomorrow, I start working at TJ Maxx and have my outfit ready! I don't have to wear a uniform and am looking forward to wearing what I want to an extent! I'll just be helping set-up the store, but it will help me in the long run! I shopped with my mom at TJ Maxx as a child in Charleston, SC, and vaguely remember it. My sister and I used to play Hide & Go Seek under the round racks while my mom was shopping! LOL It's funny how I remember things from my childhood like it was just yesterday sometimes and then other times I can't!

Saturday, Emily and I are going to Plymouth to see our dad's side of the family. We're having a celebration cookout for our grandmother who was in the hospital/rehab for almost a year after major colon surgery. I made sure I charged my batteries last night for my digital camera! I can't wait to see my dad, Tammy, and Tyler, also! I haven't seen them since last summer. We have kept in touch on the phone, but it's not the same! I haven't seen the rest of the family all together since Thanksgiving 2008, so it sounds like it's going to be a good time all around!

TJ Maxx Orientation/Visit with my Grandmama

Last Monday, April 26, was my Orientation at TJ Maxx. It was 4 hours long! I learned a lot about shoplifting and co-worker honesty. The manager told us all to put our employee folder in our underwear drawer in our dressers, lol. I got a call from the assistant manager this afternoon and my first day of work is Friday night 3-9! I'll be helping set-up the store. The store opens May 23.

Monday night-Friday night, I stayed with my Grandmama James. I hung out clothes and swept the kitchen/back porch twice. She can't bend over since she's wearing a corset because of her back surgery. She's getting around with a walker. I went outside with her every day to water flowers and watered her tomato plants every other day. She has to help with the walker on the steps going out the back porch and doesn't want to go outside by herself, so I carried the walker down/up the steps for her. I also learned a few things in the kitchen. She taught me how to make corn cakes! I helped her fix lunch one day, too. While outside one day, we walked to her apple tree and saw little apples growing! I've never seen apples grow on a tree! As you can tell, I had a good visit with my grandmama!
