2021 in Review

I made more cards this year. I may have done one scrapbook layout, but I can't find a picture of it. The snowman card was a kit that was sent to me and I put it together how I wanted it. The first 2 pictures was an online Stampin' Up class that I put my own spin on.

Happy New Year and here's to a great 2022!

Altenew Challenge

I haven't used this Altenew stamp set until today- Blooming Mandalas. I stamped it with Gina K Designs Amalgam ink and colored it in with various Stamp and Write markers and Copics. The sentiment is also part of the set and stamped with the same ink. I usually use patterned paper on my cards behind my stamps, but I wanted this semi-mandala image to stand out. I popped up the sentiment with 2 Stampin' Up dimensionals. I used Colorbok 8.5 x 11 Bright Smooth Cardstock that I trimmed down to A2 card size for the card base. It's basically half a sheet of cardstock folded in half.  I may send this to a friend or I may keep it in my stash for later. The sequins are from The Stamps of Life Sequins And More 2 set.

Growing In Unity Day Five

Welcome back to Day 5 and my last day of Growing in Unity! I have appreciated all the comments this week. I decided to make another birthday card. I used Happy Birthday Itty Bitty by Joslyn Nielson and stamped it with Gina K Designs Amalgam Ink on white paper. I colored in the image with Monte Marte Dual Tip Markers- they are very similar to Copics. The patterned paper is from Recollections Home Basics 6 x 6 inch Paper Pad that I trimmed down to fit the card. The card base is from Colorbok Brilliant 8.5 x 11 Smooth Cardstock trimmed down to A2 card size. The enamel dots are from Stamps of Life. I adhered the patterned paper and the stamped image down with my Teresa Collins Xyron mega runner. That's all I have to share. Have a great weekend!

Growing in Unity Day Four

Welcome back to Day 4 of my Growing in Unity week! I didn't want to add paper behind the beach scene so it would stand out more. This stamp set is called ...always from the heart by Phyllis Harris. I stamped the sentiment and the beach scene with Gina K Amalgam ink. I colored the beach scene with Marvy ColorIn Watercolor Twist colored pencils. I tried to blend the colors to make the sky look sunset and the water look real. The card base is from DCWV A2 brights Printed Textured Cards. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron 150 Create-A-Sticker Maker to attach it to the card. I used my Teresa Collins Xyron mega runner to attach the beach scene to the card. The purple enamel dots are from my stash. I colored the 2 girls thinking of me and a best friend of mine. We didn't know each other as kids, but are forever friends. I'm the one on the right. I may mail this card to her. That's all I have to share today. Please come back tomorrow to see what I have to share on my last day. Have a great day!

Growing In Unity Day Three

Welcome back to Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week!

I have a few birthdays coming up this summer so I thought I would get a head start. I used July Unity Sentiment Kit 2017 ...hugs, kisses, & birthday wishes by Lisa Arana. I stamped it with Gina K Designs Amalgam ink onto white paper along with the sentiment and the sentiment inside. I colored in the owl and balloons stamped image with Marvy ColorIn Watercolor Twist colored pencils and adhered it down with my Teresa Collins Xyron MegaRunner. The card base is from DCWV A2 Brights Printed Textured Cards. The patterned paper is from Recollections Home Basics 6 x 6 inch Paper Pad that I trimmed down to fit the card. I also used my MegaRunner to attach it to the card. I used my Xyron 150 Create-A-Sticker Maker to attach the Happy Birthday sentiment and the sentiment inside. The enamel dots are from The Stamps of Life.

A picture of the inside sentiment. I will most likely give this card to my sister in July. Her favorite color is pink. That's all I have to share today. Please come back tomorrow to see what I have to share.

Growing In Unity Day Two

Welcome back to Day 2 of my Growing In Unity week!

I made another card. I used Colorbok Bright Brilliant 8.5 x 11 in Smooth Cardstock trimmed down to A2 card size as the card base. The background paper is from American Crafts Sparkleberry Ink Double-Sided Paper Pad that I trimmed down to fit the front of the card and adhered it with Teresa Collins Xyron Mega Runner. I chose Not Be Perfect Itty Bitty by Angie Boom and stamped it with Gina K Designs Amalgam Ink. I colored it in with Marvy  ColorIn Watercolor Twist colored pencils and used the Mega Runner again to adhere it to the card. The butterfly button was given to me by a friend in a recent button swap. I glued it down with Tombow Aqua Mono Liquid Glue. The sequins are from a set from Design Creative Bling that's no longer in business. I glued them down with Tombow glue, also.  I decided to add the other stamp/sentiment inside as shown below. I used the same Gina K ink and used my Xyron 1.5 Create-A-Sticker maker to adhere it.

That's it for today.  Please come back tomorrow to see what I have to share. I will choose 2 winners at the end of the week to win a prize from Unity. Have a great day!

Best Friends

I made this layout for Soul Scrappers SSQ42 aka Soul Scrap Quest. We were sent an envelope full of goodies and I used all, but one item. I may use that on a card or something else! The paper I chose is from 49 and Market Irrevocable Beauty Efflorescent. Everything on the layout was in my envelope except for my markers and adhesives I used. I used Copics and Stampin' Write markers to color in the Stampin' Up stamped image from Beautiful You stamp collection that must have been discontinued because I can't find it on the Stampin' Up website. I used Copic V04 Lilac to color over the Friends chipboard. I used my Teresa Collins Xyron MegaRunner on the picture, doily, pink butterfly paper, and some of the bigger circles. The picture is of me and Lisa- on the right in red- in July 2020 when she came to visit for a week. I used my Xyron 150 Create-A-Sticker on the butterflies, the smallest circle, and the polka dot strip. I used Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue on the Friends chipboard, the pearls, and the pink burlap square.  The best sticker I fussy cut out of another sticker from Carta Bella Hello Again Collection Kit. I bought the 49 and Market and Carta Bella kits from Tuesday Morning at a cheaper price than you will find them online. This is the first layout I have done in awhile and placed everything where I wanted it before I glued it all down. The pearls were a last minute add on. Have a good week! TFL!

Owl Birthday

I'm entering this card in Challenge #4 with Let's Squash It. The challenge was to use an embossing folder and an animal. I chose Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix Bird Crazy Texture Fade embossing folder- it is part of a stamp and die set. The owl with balloons stamp is part of Unity Stamp Company Hugs, Kisses, & Birthday Wishes July 2017 Sentiment kit and the sentiment- happy birthday- is also from the same set. I used Gina K Designs Amalgam ink on both. I colored in the owl with mostly Pastel Copics and Detail Doodlers. The green paper/card base is from The Stamps of Life. The sequins are Smoothie Mix from SpiegelMomScraps. The challenge ends Jan 31 so feel free to join!

Happy Birthday

This is a digital image- Party Bag from Bugaboo Stamps. Click on the link to purchase the digistamp. I used Pastel Copies on most of the image to color it in, I used a Silver GellyRoll pen for the balloon string and ribbon. The background paper is from   The Stamps of Life (TSOL) Smiles collection and the card base is also TSOL cardstock. I stamped happy birthday with VersaFine Black Onyx ink and colored over the block with  Stampin' Up Stampin' Blends Dark Balmy Blue. One thing I learned, Copics bleed through paper and Stampin' Blends don't. The bling is also TSOL. My friend, Jennifer Taylor is having a Stampin' Up (SU) party with Dawn Bourgette, so please click on the SU link to shop with her! NVTNUCKP is the host code to use for Jen to get credit. TFL!

Hey Lady

Inside

Happy 2021! I made this card using a Flap & Closure that I bought last year. Click on the link to find out more. I used The Stamps of Life cardstock, With Love Collection, lovebug2stamp die, and hey lady, have a lovely day stamp from Unity Stamp Company January 2016 Grab Bag. I used ColorFine Black Onyx ink on all stamps. I bought this flap and closure die just before Christmas and just had time to play with it last weekend. I should have chosen a different base color, but it started out as a trial run. I used my Cricut Cuttlebug to cut out all dies- hearts, love bug, and the flaps. I just chose not to use the closure dies. I'm going to mail it out soon for a Valentine swap. Thanks for looking!

Congratulations Winners

Congratulations to Teresa Godines and 2 suns- winners from my GIU week last week. Please email Kelli Haglund (kelli@unitystampco.com) ...
