Family Brings You Home...

I made this layout for the Use it Tuesday (http://useittuesday.blogspot.com) Challenge #60. The challenge is to dig in your stash for some hoarded supplies. I've been holding this PP- Imaginsce- for the right layout! The picture mat under the front of the house is a frame that I got at a scrapbook retreat about 3 years ago and the same with the journaling frame. The title "Family Brings you Home and Home is Where the Heart Is" is from a family set I got years ago & "No Place Like Home Sweet Home" is from the same PP. I bought the EK Success Earth Colors Memory Pencils a few years back. I really dug through my stash! LOL! I don't use the colored pencils and decided to on this layout. The journaling states that the house is in "Louisburg, NC" and that my "Daddy, Tammy, Tyler, & Emily" lived there in 2012. The bottom 2 pic mats are Colorbok Textures (the paper looks like the middle of a big tree stump). My dad made a storage shed behind their house and I like how he put the windows in it to make it look like a house off of Little House on the Prairie. Tyler is being silly in the bottom picture in the backyard behind the house. The buttons and swirly button I bought with another set. I did another layout tonight, but will post it later. It might qualify for a challenge as well, but I'm going to wait and see. Either way I'll be posting it soon! TFL and have a good weekend!

Happy Happy Birthday to you.

This is my last card for the card challenge with Scrapping Everyday Miracles (http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com) Birthday Celebration. I followed the above sketch to make the card. I used DCWV Card Stack Greens for the card base, Recollections 8.5x11 Printed Cardstock Cupcake Cuties, Basic Grey Life of the Party 6x6 paper pad, Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 paper pad, Recollections Foam Adhesive Squares (just 1 to make the yellow cupcake pop), Texture Bobbin Ribbon, and Joann Craft Essentials White/Black ribbon. This card took me a little longer to make since I had to fussy cut the cupcake, make sure the papers were even, and make sure the ribbon paper pieces fit! The texture bobbin is a little tedious, too, but I don't use it very often! I used my Xyron Create a Sticker on both ribbons, the paper ribbons, and the sentiment. I love using it for adhesive! I used Elmer's Craft Bond Adhesive Squares on the rest.  I'm gonna take a day off from crafting tomorrow! I'm going out of town to visit my sister. I might make a card on Friday for Use it Tuesday! TFL!

Hello Beautiful!

I made this card for two challenges! I got the digi/sentiment from Unity Stamp Company (http://unitystampco.blogspot.com) and this is also my 4th card for the card challenge with Stamping Everyday Miracles (http://stampingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com)!  I received my RAK from Lisa in the mail today- My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing by Jen Allyson Acrylic Stamps- and didn't have a "Hello" stamp until now! Thanks, Lisa!! A soldier's wife is gonna love this card! I used VersaFine for the stamp and it didn't set right, so I went over it with my black Copic. The floral PP is Best Occasions Spring Morning paper pad and the ribbon is also a RAK from Heather Lynn. The blue dots/bling are from my stash. I used American Crafts pens, Copic, Creative Memories Olive, Gelly Roll Clear Star pen, and Sharpie Pastel Pink/Pastel Blue/Pastel Purple pens for the coloring. I used the scallop edged scissors on the digi & both sentiments and another pair of edged scissors on both sides of the PP. I love using edged scissors! I'm going to make another one to giveaway to someone else! I love this digi! TFL!

The American Spirit Lives Forever!

This is Card Challenge #3 for Stamping Everyday Miracles (http://stampingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com). This challenge requires making a "Thank You" card for a soldier and including a short thank you note inside. I used DCWV Card Stack Green as I did with the other 2 for the card base. I added Storyteller's Club All About Dad PP for the main background and the middle piece, the top 3stickers are Creatology Happy 4th of July, the bottom sticker- "The American Spirit lives forever." is Stickabilities, the "Thank You" stamp is Skipping Stones Design from Happy Birthday Chick set, the twine is a RAK from Heather Lynn, and the ribbon is Bobbin Ribbon. Sorry for the picture quality, my batteries were about to die on my camera and I about used them up trying to get a somewhat "perfect" picture! I have to write a note later and this card is ready to go. I have 2 more of the 5 card challenges left to do before July 31 and I plan on doing them next week! Have a great weekend & don't forget to thank a soldier for their service to our country!! TFL!

Merry Christmas in July!!

I know I'm not going in order of the challenges! This is card challenge #4 for Scrapping Everday Miracles (SEM).  I've been wanting to make a Christmas card! I used the above sketch from SEM(http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com). I used Recollections Bright & Jolly Paper Pad for all 3 layers on the card. I was trying to stick with the candy cane theme! The Trendy Twine Candy Cane from Annie's Paper Boutique (http://anniespaperboutique.com) was my inspiration before I chose the paper! I hadn't used the twine yet & won it awhile back from Jamie K off a blog hop I participated in. I also used ATD Momenta Super Sticker Pack and Bobbin Ribbon that has "'tis the season to be jolly" on it but I covered up the to be jolly to follow the sketch. I thought the twine was a nice touch after adding the ribbon! Sorry the picture is crooked, I was sitting on the floor and my balance isn't that good when taking pics vertically. I flipped it before adding here and tried not to include anything in the background!  I didn't make both cards today. I was having issues with Blogger posting the birthday card last week and finally tried again this morning! TFL!

Card Challenge with Scrapping Everyday Miracles

Scrapping Everyday Miracles (http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com) is having their 2nd Birthday Celebration the whole month of July. This card is for one of the card challenges. We were asked to use 3 or more PP. I used 6 if you count the "happy birthday" box, the balloons, and the banner. I used Basic Grey Life of the Party 6x6 paper pad, Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 paper pad, Studio18 Terrain Paper Pack, Paper Pizzazz Pet Prints, We R Memory Keepers Friends Furever Fabric Brads. I guess it's actually 4 since the paper ribbon, Happy Birthday, and the balloons/gift strip are all Simple Stories Happy Day! They have 4 other challenges to make cards for the soldiers and I'm gonna try one of them this afternoon. You have until July 31 to make all 5, so join me if you love making cards and giving them away! Have a great Wednesday! TFL! :)

Life Is Like...

I'm entering this card in 3 Challenges: Unity Inspired Wednesday (http://www.theunitystampco.blogspot.com) using the picture boutique card, Use it Tuesday (http://useittuesday.blogspot.com/2013/07/challenge-59-birthdays.html), and Whimsical Designs (http://www.stephanie-whimsicaldesigns.com/2013/07/clean-and-simple-challenge.html). I have included pictures of my stash to show for Use it Tuesday. I used Unity Stamp Company Berry Good Life, pink baker's twine from Fresh Brewed Designs, the green card is cardstock I bought from TJ Maxx, the pink/gold Chevron and the pink embossed papers are Holly Robinson Peete Value Craft Pack, the brads are KI Memories Paisley Parade Epoxy Fasteners, the green swirly paper and "live love laugh" on the inside are Studio 18 Terrain Paper Pack, and the pens I used are American Crafts, Zig Memory System, and markers that I've had the longest with a kit that I started scrapbooking with. Happy Birthday!

I followed the above sketch from Dahlhouse Designs (http://dahlhouse-designs.com/) to make this birthday card. I tilted the sketch to go with the flow of the PP! I've been on a roll making birthday cards lately! ;)
The paper is K&Company Jubilee Teal Flowers & Butterfly. The tag is a Pinterest find from The Cottage Market (http://www.thecottagemarket.com), the butterfly & "Happy Birthday" stamps are Skipping Stone Designs, and the baker's twine is from Heather Lynn. I decided to use Stickles to color in the butterfly! I used Waterfall (the light blue), Golden Rod, Silver, and Crystal.
The purple paper is also K&Company (it's double sided) and was given to me by Niki, I believe. The hearts journal card is another Pinterest find from http://www.misstina.com. I added the ribbon with it both are American Crafts Premium Ribbon and the bling is from my stash. The butterfly cut-outs were a RAK from Ashley, and the little flower in the corner was from a bottle swap I was in a few years back. I had Stickles in the middle of the flower, but it didn't set right so I covered it with a rainbow bling/dot!
The sentiment "The more you celebrate in life the more there is to celebrate" is Skipping Stone Designs.
The little butterflies are also from Ashley. She gave me a whole bunch of butterflies and hearts that she made with her Cricut that she decided she didn't want! :) The "With Love" sticker is Studio G and I wrote my name and 2013 for the year I made it! My stepsister's 19th birthday is coming up in a week, well almost 2, July 15 and I may give her this card! Today is my stepbrother's birthday. We celebrated early since he'll probably be with his mom later tonight and we have church. My sister's birthday is Thursday and I can't wait to give her the flip flops that I posted in my last blog post and the cupcake birthday card a few posts down! I'm going to spend the end of this week with her, my dad, stepmom and Tyler and can't wait! It will just be from Thursday-Saturday, but it's still time away from home and time spent with them! I hope you all have a great 4th! TFL!
