You Are My Sunshine and Difficult Roads

This is a layout of me and my nephew. I used Colorbok Signature Hopscotch 12 x 12 in Double-Side Patterned Paper Pad for the background paper, photo mats and journaling block- Picture Perfect- I typed the journaling on my computer- a selfie of me and BG and BG rolled over after Tummy Time. The title- You Are My Sunshine is from Me & My Big Ideas Manbi Sheets I Love The Life We Live 12 x 12 in Specialty Cardstock Pad.
I stamped the images last week, but saved them for later. I stamped them with Gina K Designs Amalgam ink on typing paper. I made this card for a Minimal Color Challenge with Unity Show and Tell on Facebook. The stamped images are from Unity Stamp Company Steps of Courage stamp set. I used NPW 50/50 Dual-ended Colored pencils to color in the image. The twine is Watermelon Sorbet from Annie's Paper Boutique. I added the twine and the floral image to the card in the dark with the exception of the glow from my laptop screen. My parents slept in the living room due to my stepdad having pneumonia and not being able to lay flat to sleep.

Christmas 2018

I decided to do a 2 page layout to display pictures I took Christmas Day 2018.
The paper is Stampin' Up Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper. The first page was a partial paper so I had to patch it with another piece of the same collection under the tree. LOL. I tried to cover up the cut lines on both sides, but also wanted to show the ornaments background sheet. The title- It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year is from Pebbles Home For Christmas 12 x 12 in Paper Pad.
I used the same ornament paper from Under The Mistletoe Collection to tie the pages together. The journaling block is from Heartfelt Creations Festive Holly Paper Collection. I typed the journaling on my computer using Lucida Handwriting font- my handwriting isn't that neat so I'd rather type out my journaling-  Christmas 2018  Funfetti Cupcakes  Christmas tree bell topper up close Christmas tree decorated and no ornaments at the bottom because the cats would play with them My favorite presents and yes the water bottle lights up and has a speaker on top
The 2 pages together. The smaller tree is a crab pot Christmas tree that comes with lights on it. The star and bulbs were added to it. Our angel was too top heavy for our pre-lit tree so I found this bell at Hobby Lobby and decided that would work as the tree topper since we couldn't find a star. TFL! I'll have another post tomorrow.

Family

I've been catching up on my scrappin'!
I used Colorbok Signature Paper Family Double-Sided 12 x 12 in Paper Pad for this layout- everything is from the same collection except the brad I used. The brad is from my stash, possibly K & Company- it's from a set of brads and eyelets of various colors. I decided to use the big apple background since the pictures were taken right before Thanksgiving.
I decided to hide the journaling is why I added a mat under the bottom picture to hold the brad and not mess the picture up. I typed the journaling on my computer and then attached it with my Xyron 1.5 in Create A Sticker Maker- Rhodes (my paternal side) side of the family celebrated Thanksgiving the Saturday before. I made Pumpkin Pie Coffee Cake. Pics are before and after it was cut to show what it looks like inside. I loved Erica's Christmas village. Phoebe loved the train track. I found the recipe for the Pumpkin Pie Coffee Cake on Pinterest and can also be found on Collecting Memories if you don't use Pinterest. It's a delicious cake! TFL!

Mixed Media Challenge

I decided to play around with my Faber Castell Pastel Gelatos and Faber Castell stencils today. I bought a Canson XL Mixed Media 7 x 10 pad from Walmart and I'm entering my page in Bleeding Art January Challenge: Anything Goes. The only stencils that you can see is American Crafts Heidi Swapp Frames Mini Stencil Kit that I traced over with several Sharpie's after I traced them with my gelatos. You can't really see the other stencils I used since I blended everything together. I decided to add 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 since I had love and a heart displayed. I typed the Scripture on my computer and then ran it through my Xyron 1.5 Create A Sticker maker to attach it to the page. I then drew around each block with Sharpie's. It's still not 100% dry so I didn't get the Sharpie's to show up as dark as I would like. I must say I went out of my comfort zone to make this page. I don't like getting messy when I scrap, but once I cleaned up the mess on the dining room table and saw my creation it was worth it! I still have marks from the Sharpie's on my fingertips, but it will wear off. The challenge ends January 31 to feel free to play along! I had planned to use the mixed media pad for something else and changed my mind so I'm glad I saw this challenge!

Valentine's Day Cards

I received this stamp set- Lovely Pandas- used on both cards- from Gerda Steiner Designs in the mail on Monday.
I stamped all the images except for the penguin. The penguin was a freebie with the set. I stamped all the images on Stampin' Up Whisper White cardstock with Gina K Designs Amalgam ink using my Tim Holtz Tonic Studios Stamp Platform and colored them in with NPW 50/50 Double-ended Colored Pencils. I fussy cut them as much as I could- I normally don't fussy cut so well. Both card bases are Studio G card sets. The paper on the above card is from Pink Paislee 12 in Paper Pad that I trimmed down to fit the card. The washi tape is from a Jot set I bought from Dollar Tree. I didn't want to cover up the flowers that were embossed on the card before I was given the set.
The paper on this card is from Colorbok 12 in Designer Paper Holiday Extravaganza that I trimmed down to fit the card. The washi tape is Studio G. I have one more post to share so please stay tuned! :)

Now onto my project:
I decided to make a 2 page layout of my nephew playing with his new Scentsy Mickey Mouse. The pictures are on the way and I hoped to have them for this hop, but I went ahead and made the layouts. The above pic is of the 2 pages together.
This is the title side. I used Echo Park Paper Co Magical Adventure Kit. The photo mat on this page is from Simple Stories Say Cheese 4 x 4 Quote and 6 x 8 Photo Mat Elements. I just tore it in half to put 2 pictures on one of each. The 2 stickers- cheese and stars- and the title- It's a Mouse Thing- is from the Echo Park Co Kit.
I coordinated the 2 pages together with the black and white spots. The photo mats on this page is from Disney Sandy Lion. The stickers- Mickey Mouse and the camera- and journaling mat are from the Echo Park Co Kit. I wish I had the pics on this layout to share with you, but I will post the layout completed when they arrive. I ordered them from Free Prints, you only pay for shipping. My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 419

I made the following card using the sketch above from My Favorite Things Card Challenges.
The card base is Recollections A2 size and I added ModaScrap Fly &Scrap patterned paper as the background. The die is from Cheapo Dies that I actually cut 4 times on 4 different papers on my Cricut Cuttlebug. I used 2 shades of pink and a shade of blue- all 3 from Recollections 8.5 x 11 Dreamy paper pack and cut it on the ModaScrap paper as well. I used the negative side on the patterned paper. The Happy Valentine's Day sentiment is one stamp from The Stamps of Life icecreamtruck2stamp set and I used Gina K Designs Amalgam Ink to stamp it using my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. I smudged the card just a little bit from too much ink on my stamping platform, but you can barely see it. I'll probably send this card to one of my friends, not sure who yet. I'm participating in a Disney blog hop this Saturday so please be sure to become a follower and come back. TFL!

Recent Projects

I made this card for an upcoming swap- One Pocket Folder Winter Theme. I'll have to post a picture of the folder before I mail it. I may add a few things, but I haven't decided yet. The stamp set I used is from The Stamps of Life icecreamtruck2stamp set. I actually used 4 stamps and a die from the set. I stamped them with Gina K Designs Amalgam Jet Black ink and colored them in with NPW 50/50 Two-Tone Colored Pencils. The card base is Recollections Kraft A2. The twine is Chocolate Truffle from Annie's Paper Boutique. I made a coffee truck sticking with the winter theme, but the truck can be an ice cream truck, a cupcake truck, or birthday truck. The paper is also from The Stamps of Life XOXO 6 x 6" Collection Paper Pad.

This was my nephew's, BG's, first Christmas. I used Paper Studio Old World Winter Cardstock 12 x 12" Paper Pad. I fussy cut the border from the same paper pad. The candy cane sticker and the Santa stamp are both from Simon Says Stamp Holiday Cheer December Card Kit. I used the same Gina K Designs ink to stamp the Santa stamp. I colored in the stamp with Sharpie's and Stickles Stardust. The title sticker- Hey, Santa- is from Simple Stories Oh! What Fun Collection. I typed the journaling on the computer- Brian, BG, and Emily with Santa- and matted it on a piece of the Stamps of Life XOXO Collection paper. I matted the picture on a piece of paper from the same Paper Studio pad. I'm waiting on some pictures of Thanksgiving and Christmas to develop from Free Prints- I should receive them in the mail next week. I recommend them if you have a lot of pictures to develop- you just pay for shipping which isn't bad. I will be scrapping those pics when I receive them so please come back and see my Christmas Memories layout from a previous post completed and more to come. Have a great weekend!
