Football Birthday Card

I have a friend who's 40th birthday is coming up next Tuesday and he's been wanting me to make a football card or a football layout so he's getting this card for his birthday! His favorite team is Carolina Panthers and DeAngelo Williams (#34) is one of his favorite players. I won this football player digi from Scrappin With Lisa  (http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/) and haven't used it yet. Todd, my friend, is gonna love it! I wanted to make the sentiment like a football huddle chant thus the reason for "On 3 yell 'happy birthday' 1 2 3 ... "- those stickers are Simple Stories Happy Day Expressions Cardstock Stickers from Housecalls by: Scrapping Madge (http://heartstringdesigns.com). I'll get back to the inside in a minute, I forgot to mention the football is DCWV All About Boys Stack that I fussy cut and the number 34 is fussy cut from Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 pad. I photo enhanced the football digi to make it look like Panthers colors- it still has a purple tint to it, but not as much as before- and colored in the digi with American Crafts Candy Shoppe, American Crafts Basic Black, and Gelly Roll Clear Star pens. I had to make sure I got the right color for DeAngelo Williams, too! You can tell I don't know that much about football! I am trying and playing in 2 fantasy football leagues believe it or not! ;) Oh, the blue camo paper is also DCWV All About Boys Stack and the card base is DCWV Greens Card Stack.
Now this is where the football chant picks up with "Happy Birthday"! The sticker is Karen Foster Design Blow Out the Candles Cardstock Stickers and the paper is Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 pad again and I drew a box around "40" for his age in American Crafts Basic Black gel pen. He's gonna get me back, I'm sure when I turn 40 in 3 years! (I know I don't look my age! LOL!)
Sorry for the brightness of this pic. I couldn't get Blogger to add it and my screen is a little darker than normal. The black mat is also from the September kit from Housecalls by: Madge and is Echo Park Paper Birthday Wishes Glitz and I cut the green arrow strip out from the other side to separate the 2 papers and to kinda emphasize the "make a wish" stamp- EK SUCCESS Happy Birthday it's like an old library stamp that you change the stamp with a turn of a knob on the side and is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink. The "Blow out those candles! You can do it!" was a bubble conversation sticker that is probably Hallmark that I bought from Walmart years ago and I've lost the packaging. I play Todd in fantasy football the week after his birthday and taunted him a little in the card! LOL! I wanted to use my Gelly Roll Clear Star pen for the message, but it's about gone and it didn't show up like I wanted it to so I used an American Crafts Basic Blue gel pen for the message.

I started this post last night and my computer locked up so I was determined to finish it tonight! I watched Angela Holt's (http://www.angelaholtdesigns.com/) class tonight and am hyped up, sorry! If you get a chance watch her class on Saturday night on her Ustream channel- (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-bling-chronicles)- you will love it! She's gonna show how to make a mini-album using Tsunami Rose products (http://tsunamirosedesigns.blogspot.com/)! I'm not sure about the time, but you can find the info on her Ustream Channel or on her Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/#!/AHoltDesigns)! Whew, lots of shout-outs! :) TFL and have a great HUMP day! Gotta love that Geico commercial!

What a thoughtful card. I love the Huddle Chant sentiment - - - clever. Fun idea to use all the papers you did. I think I have the DCWV All about Boys stack and rarely use it...great stack for masculine projects!
