Welcome to A Year of Card Techniques Blog Hop where each month we feature a different card technique. We’ve assembled a team of card makers who range from new to advanced, so you’ll see a great variety of cards and ideas.
June‘s hop is devoted to basic card folds; featuring drapery/curtain fold, peek-a-boo fold or double-z gate-fold. And we’re adding a twist of using double-sided paper. We hope this gives you lots of ideas and will inspire you to try these card folds yourself...and pull out that double-sided paper as well! If you would like to check out our past technique hops, you can do that here:

Now on to my projects. My first card is a drapery pull back card, but could also be called peek- a- boo fold. I made this card for my sister's birthday that is on July 4. She loves roses so I know she will love this card. The paper is from Colorbok Signature Homespun 12 x 12 in Paper Pad. The Hip Hip Hooray stamp is from Unity Stamp Company ...so glad you were born stamp set. I used Ranger Jet Black Archival ink to stamp it. The floral fabric button is from Kraft Supplies 4 U and I attached it with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue Aqua Dual Tip Pen. The folds are held down with Elmer's Craft Bond Permanent Tape Runner. I'll write a message inside the card later. I used Crafts By Beth as the tutorial to go by for this card.

The second card is a Z fold card that I made for a couple that just recently lost a set of twins to premature birth. The paper is Glitz Design Felicity Double Sided 12 x 12 Paper- one side is Chevron and the other side is pink. The washi tape is Jot Deco Tape from Dollar Tree. The thinking of you and flower stamps are from Close To My Heart My Acrylix A Blossom Everyday Life stamp set. I used Ranger Jet Black ink again to stamp them on typing paper. I decided to use the Chevron side for the front.
This is a close-up of the inside. The pink polka dotted paper is from Best Occasions Jewel Punch Out Pack. I'll write a message on the inside before I mail the card. Both cards will fit in an A2 size envelope. I used Inkinbythebay as the tutorial for this card. Both were Pinterest inspired cards.
Now you’re off to visit with CARD A DAY CHALLENGE TEAM. Hope you had fun and thanks for stopping by. See you next month with another technique!

I sure do love the patterned paper you used on your first card...the choice of paper is all important on these double sided folds. Both cards are very nice and thank you for sharing them. It is always a pleasure hopping with you.
Soft colors . . . is that pink and green? Always reminds me of my daughter's childhood room. Love the contrast in the two sides of that paper. Great hopping with you.
Debbie, the first patterned paper is pink and green and the second is pink and blue. I was thinking the couple I made the 2nd card for lost a girl and a boy, but it was twin girls. They do have 2 little boys, so I guess the colors fit.
Cute card!!! Smiles!!
Great cards. Love the paper you used on the first one. Thanks for hopping with us this month.
