GIU Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of Growing In Unity! Sorry I'm late posting this. I discovered Netflix tonight for the first time and waited until almost 12 to put a project together. I watched August Osage County- great movie with some harsh cussing- rated R for that reason, LOL!  I decided to make a New Year's card for some friends that I received a Christmas card from and forgot to send them one. I've got to find an envelope for the card to fit in. Anyway, enough rambling! I found this paper- K&Company Que Sera Sera Designer 12 x 12" Pad at Michaels on Tuesday and used a 50% off coupon from Sunday's paper and since it was the highest item that I bought I got the pad for $7.50! I love deals like that! The Celebrate stamp is from an old collection I bought years ago and I used VersaFine Onyx Black ink to stamp it. I used a stencil and a Creative Memories Black Basic Round-Tip Marker- from a set of 4 (the other colors are red, green, and blue) to write Happy New Year. The tag is from my stash and so is the bling.
I know you're thinking where's the Unity stamp?! :) I used the clock Unity stamp from May 2013 Totally & Utterly Amazing Kit Of The Month and used VersaFine ink again. The sentiment stamp is part of a 2 piece set that I also found at Michaels and is a Momenta stamp. I used VersaFine on this stamp as well. I highly recommend VersaFine ink when stamping! It's the best ink pad I've ever bought. I will add a message later before I mail the card. I used my Close To My Heart mounting square to hold the card down. Yes, I shop from a variety of scrap companies! 15 years of scrap product adds up to a variety which is good! :)
Please keep me in your prayers as I feel like I'm getting sick, but it could be just pressure from the weather changing here in NC. We had thunderstorms all day and the temperature is supposed to drop into the 50s over the weekend. Thank you all for the nice comments! I really appreciate them all. Please come back tomorrow as I have one more project to share. I hope you all have a Happy New Year and don't party too hard! I'll be putting together a 1000 piece puzzle of the American lighthouses and watch the ball drop at Times Square on TV. I'm off today and will work on tomorrow's project later this afternoon. TFL!

2015 Favorites

If you're looking for GIU Day 3 Click Here

These are my favorite cards, layouts, and projects I made for 2015. 2015 was the year of many firsts for me- I went fishing for the first time, made a pocket letter, recovered a tin can, made a paper bag album, and an album from a file folder (the last 2 items I didn't include but can be found on my blog). Enjoy!

GIU Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of Growing in Unity! I'm featured on Unity Stamp Company as the last Growing in Unity gal for 2015! I decided to include my Christmas pictures on another layout. It's been awhile since I've made any layouts and it feels good to make them again!
I fussy cut a stocking out of Pebbles Home for Christmas 12 x 12" Scrapbook Paper Pad that is shown above the picture of my stocking goodies. I used Recollections Bright and Jolly 12 x 12 Scrapbook Paper Pad for the main gift background paper and the title- Have Yourself a Cozy Christmas. I chose the gift paper since all the pictures are of gifts- 2 that I received and 2 that I gave. I added Annie's Paper Boutique Candy Cane Trendy Twine under the title to accent it a little.
close-up of Can't Imagine the Journey without you Unity stamp that I used VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink- all stamps are Unity and I used the same ink- to stamp it with on typing paper
The journaling square is from Pebbles Home for Christmas 12 x 12" Scrapbook Paper Pad and states that Dustin gave us all a Chrome Cast to cast media from our tablets, laptops, and phones to the TV, we watched various shows and songs and had a great time. We watched Mr. Bean mini videos and laughed until we cried.
close-up of embossed paper from Craft Smith Embossed 8.5 x 11" Christmas Paper Pad- the red paper on the other side is from the same pad- and the World Market Gourmet Coffee Sampler that Dustin gave me

close-up of heart stamp and my mom opening her gift from me- I gave her 2 IL Mulino frying pans. She just had Mohn surgery done on her nose a week before Christmas and a place on her right cheek frozen. Her dad, my grandfather, died in 2004 with melanoma so she gets any bumps checked out on her face. She had the stitches removed from her face Monday and will have the stitches removed from her nose in the morning or Wednesday when most of you read this. I didn't want to take too many pictures of her, because of her nose. I honestly didn't take that many pictures on Christmas Day. We enjoyed the day so much and had my aunt and uncle over for supper that I didn't think about taking pictures. Anyway, back to the layout!
this is a close-up of what I gave Mr. Ray, my stepdad, the card game Deer in the Headlights

close-up of the gift background paper and the other 2 Unity stamps used- Joy and home is where they love you
the picture in the middle is what I received in my stocking

I can't wait to try out the coffee! I haven't tried it yet! It's the first coffee set that has been given to me! Please leave me a comment and come back tomorrow to see what I have to share. TFL and have a Happy New Year Eve Eve! :)

GIU Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the last week of Growing in Unity for 2015!
This layout is of my cousin and her family. I used Craft Smith Watercolor 12 x 12" Scrapbook Pad again for this layout. All of the stamps are from a Unity Itty Bitty assortment. I used VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink to stamp them. The photo mats are also from Craft Smith Watercolor pad.
close-up of the stamp beside the boys'snow picture, the journaling states (From left to right) Thomas, Christopher, Trever, & Alexander Stuever- February 2015 I fussy cut the snowflake out of a piece of 6 x 6" paper that was a RAK from a Scrappin' Gals of SMASH*aholics group on Facebook that I'm a part of. the hearts stamp kinda double set, but it's not that bad
close-up of True Happiness stamp
close-up of Bee Happy stamp and jar- one of 6 Jar of Hearts free printable set I used to receive e-mails  from Ephemera's Vintage Garden- on which I wrote Pat is the oldest grandchild & my cousin on my dad's- Rhodes- side
the stickers- laughter, family, and a day to celebrate- are part of Creative Memories Tinted Tile Stickers
I printed out that this picture is of Jeremi & Pat Stuever on 15th Wedding Anniversary Trip 2015

Please leave me a comment and come back tomorrow. I can't wait for you to see what I have to share! :)  I will be featured on Unity Stamp Company as Growing in Unity gal tomorrow. TFL!

Growing In Unity Day 1

All this week, today- Friday, I'm going to be posting cards or layouts using Unity Stamp Company stamps so please remember to come back each day to see what I post. I'm the last Growing In Unity Gal for 2015! It's hard to believe this year has flown by already!

I made this birthday card for my friend, Lisa. Her birthday is Tuesday so I need to get it in the mail soon. Anyway, here's the details for the cards. The paper is from Craft Smith 12 x 12" Watercolor Acid Free Scrapbook Pad. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampin' Up Remembering Your Birthday and I used VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink to stamp it. (The Stampin' Up link will send you to Julie Brancart's blog who is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I don't remember who I bought or won the stamp set from and I do remember Julie is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. Just in case anyone is interested in buying Stampin' Up products.) I used Unity Stamp Company September Girl as the main focus of the front of the card. I used VersaFine ink to stamp it again. I then colored her in with Spectrum Noir Smooth Laydown Vibrant Hues Essentials Professional Colored Pencils.
For the inside, I used "I miss your face" Unity Itty Bitty various collection stamp and stamped it with VersaFine ink. I stamped all the stamps on typing paper and then used Scotch Mini Glue Dot Runner to adhere them as well as the floral strip. The floral strip is from a piece of a 6 x 6" paper I received as a RAK from Scrappin' Girls of SMASH*aholics private group I am apart of on Facebook. I used decorative scissors on the edge of the card, because I originally made the card too big to fit in an envelope. I don't always do well with my measurements in my scrappin'. I think she's gonna love this card since purple is her favorite color and she loves to bake!

Please leave me a comment and come back tomorrow. TFL!

Christmas Cards 2015

The file I used on the card above is from 2 Cute Ink. It's called Little Poinsettia. The Merry Christmas is from a stamp set that I borrowed from Vicki and I stamped it with VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment ink. The card base is Core'dinations A2 cards. The paper is from Craft Smith Olde Time 6x6 Christmas pad that I bought from Michaels. The washi tape was a RAK from my card swap on Facebook. This card and the next 2 cards I entered in the Anything Goes Challenge with SpeigelMom Scraps on Facebook and won the prize! I didn't see the picture of the prize, but I'm sure I will use it and love it! :)
The stamps on these cards were also borrowed from Vicki and I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black again. The red/green paper is from a Craft Smith Embossed 8.5 x 11 Christmas pad that I bought from Michaels. The holly paper is from a Recollections Crazy Lodge 8.5 x 11 Christmas cardstock paper pack from Michaels. The Christmas tree paper is from the same Craft Smith Olde Time Christmas 6 x 6 pad from Michaels. I bought the washi tape from Michaels and TJ Maxx. I may have used Core'dinations A2 card base on these cards again.
This paper is from the same Olde Time 6 x 6 Christmas paper pad. The Joy to the World stamp is from Michaels. The washi tape was a RAK from my card swap on Facebook. I used Core'dinations A2 card base on this card.
This paper is from the same Olde Time 6 x 6 Christmas paper pad and so is the poinsettia border. The stamp is from Michaels- both this one and Joy to the World were on clearance. I used Core'dinations A2 card base on this card.
This paper is from the same Olde Time 6 x 6 Christmas paper pad. I used Colorbox Fresh Green pigment ink on the holly stamp (the stamp was borrowed from Vicki). The file is from Lori Whitlock and I fussy cut it to make it look like a Christmas tree. I added Christmas Red Tim Holtz Stickles to the holly stamp to make it look like holly after I took the picture and before mailing.
The holly paper is from a Pebbles Home for Christmas 12 x 12 scrapbooking pad that I bought from TJ Maxx last year. The green square, Merry Christmas wreath and poinsettia are all Watercolor Christmas Designs. I used a piece of Recollections green 8.5 x 11 paper for the card base and the washi tape is either from Michaels or TJ Maxx, I don't remember which collection it is. The last card is Core'dinations A2 card base . The stamps are 2 separate stamps- the writing is from Stampendous First Christmas and the other is Inkadinkado Nativity. I stamped the writing stamp with Ranger Manganese Blue Archival Jumbo Ink Pad- borrowed from Vicki- as well as the stamps. The Nativity stamp I stamped with Colorbox Copper Pigment ink pad. TFL and have a Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday to Ewe!

I made the following card using the sketch above from Mojo Monday 428. The link is open until December 31 so you still have time to play along! I made this card for my mom's 60th birthday. It was Tuesday, the 22nd, but my siblings and I surprised her Sunday after lunch with red velvet cake and presents. It was the only time we could all get together to celebrate since my sister lives in Raleigh and won't be here Christmas Day. She was surprised and thanked us all! :) I used K&Company Berry Blast 12 x 12 Paper pack for the 3 colors. The card base is Core'dinations A2 card. The tag is from K&Company Tags, I just flipped one over and stamped Skipping Stones Design Happy Birthday to Ewe! and the sheep using VersaFine Black Onyx pigment ink. I distressed the edges of the tag with various Martha Stewart inks- the kind that look like cat eyes and are stackable-  and then decided to use the same inks to make the tag colorful. The ribbon is 3 Girl JAM London Blue from the Wine & Jewels Bundle.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Please come back to my blog all next week starting Monday, December 28 to see what I will be making as the last Growing in Unity gal for 2015! I've already started one project and need to make the rest tomorrow. I have to post Monday- Friday so be sure to visit everyday and you could win some Unity stamps! TFL!

Christmas tags & a Christmas card

I made the above tags for a swap on Facebook. I used Recollections Bright and Jolly 12 x 12 Scrapbook Paper Pad, Pebbles Home For Christmas Collection 12 x 12 Paper Pad, and Candy Cane Trendy Twine. Most of the stamps I borrowed from Vicki, my scrap buddy from my church. I used VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment ink to stamp them. I can't wait to see the 10 tags I receive back! We were supposed to make 10 and will receive 10 back. I traced a tag from a K&Company tag pad to make the tags.

I made this card using Recollections Bright Christmas 8.5 x 11 that I trimmed down to A2 card size. The Elf printable I found online, but I don't remember where. The cut-outs I fussy cut-out of a page from Pebbles Home For Christmas 12 x 12 Paper Pad and the washi tape I found at Dollar Tree last year. I added Tim Holtz  Ranger Crystal, Christmas Red, and Crystal Stickles to add a little sparkle. I'll write a message inside the card before I mail it. I'm slowly making my cards and need to get on the stick making the rest! I hope you all have a good week! TFL!
