I made this card for Shannon, a friend who's birthday was Monday based on the layout sketch above. I found the sketch on The ScrapRoom blog (http://thescraproomblog.blogspot.com/2013/05/making-cards-with-layout-sketch.html). I waited too late to link up with their challenge. I didn't see the deadline when I made this card. Anyway, I used American Crafts Hello for the background of the card, Basic Grey Life of the Party 6x6 paper pad, Martha Stewart Crafts Punch Pad, Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 Paper Pad, the "Luv Ya" flower sticker is Sticko Best Friends, the flower sticker/medallion in the middle is My Mind's Eye Sweetheart Glitter Stickers (I added some bling to the center), the ribbon stickers under it are Kraft Stickers that I found in the $1 section at Target- I colored over them with American Crafts gel pens and added some bling from my stash, & the "Happy Birthday to You" sticker is Three Bugs in a Rug Celebrate Stickers. I just made her an Easter card and have always made her birthday cards! We met on Yahoo IM years ago, about 17 years, and have kept in touch thru texting and on Facebook! I have really missed scrapbooking layouts, but have been filling that void by making cards! I'm going to my cousin's wedding in Salisbury this weekend, so I plan to take my camera and take lots of pics to scrap! The wedding is going to be outside in a park and the weather is supposed to be beautiful! Oh, following up on my Mother's Day post, my grandmother is home from the hospital and is doing well! She's walking more than she did before the pacemaker was put in! Woohoo! I also was the winner of the Fresh Brewed Designs Blog Hop that I posted about this past Monday! I won a stamp and can't wait to play with it and show it off!! I hope you all have a great Wednesday! TFL!

Mother's Day Cards
I found the first card on Pinterest and made the bottom 4 following it. The papers I used are Recollections Dark Purple Plaid w/ Recollections Bright Plaid Dots, Colorbok Spring Morning Pattern Pack, Basic Grey Out of Print Storyteller w/ K & Company, and then K& Company- I don't remember the collection because I was given the paper from a friend. "Happy Mother's Day" was stamped- Studio G I Clear- on My Mind's Eye Happier pieces of 6x6 pad. The green striped ribbon is American Crafts Premium Ribbon, the green & pink ribbon is American Crafts Peachy Keen Premium Ribbon, and the other 2 are from Heather Lynn. The flowers on each card are Studio 18 Terrain Chipboard Stickers. I used my Xyron 1.5 Create-A-Sticker to adhere the ribbons and the stamped pieces. I love using it in my cardmaking and scrapbooking!
I'm going to give these to my mom, stepmom, and both grandmothers. I saved myself a little money this year by making them all a card! :) I have to write a short note in each and mail 2 of them. I'll probably see one of my grandmother's on Mother's Day. My other grandmother is in the hospital right now for rehab after having a pacemaker put in due to congestive heart failure so I'm sure she'll love my card. That's what inspired me to make my Mother's Day cards this year! :) I tried to trim each one to fit in an envelope & still need to trim them down some. I'm gonna give the tallest one to my mom. I don't wanna trim that one down! That was the first one I made and then remembered I needed to trim them to fit in an envelope! I don't usually mail my cards so I don't think about the envelope. I ended up trimming the envelope by mistake! I love my XACTO paper trimmer! As you can tell, I love using my EK Success 12x12 mat! TFL & have a great Mother's Day weekend! :)
