Fall Is...

I saw these 2 papers in the Hello Gorgeous kit from Housecalls by: Scrapping Madge (http://heartstringdesigns.com) and had to use them in a card together and of course the colors SCREAM fall! So here goes! ;) The papers are Glitz Design Wild & Free Drips and Glitz Design Wild & Free Arrows. You'll see the arrows on the inside of the card! :) The sentiment "fall is when nature turns to gold" as well as the colorful leaf directly under it is Inkadinkado Autumn Foliage Clear Stamps, the other leaf cluster is Making Memories Flutter Clear Stamps (that's actually a spring set), the pumpkin is The Stamps of Life by Stephanie Barnard Thanks 2 Fall clear stamps and yes- even the tip of the pumpkin is a separate stamp! I fussy cut the stamp after stamping it on Colorbox Deluxe Textured Cardstock Orange and drew the face w/ my only Copic 100 black. The swirly stamp at the top is My Mind's EyeThe Sweetest Thing by Jen Allyson  Tangerine "Hello" Acrylic Stamps set. I can't wait to use the rest of this set! I saw this stamp and thought I've got to add some twine to it instead of coloring over it! I love how it came out and wish the green would have cooperated more, but it is my first time trying this technique! So, go me! ;)  I used American Crafts Candy Shoppe and Basic gel pens to accent all the stamps and VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink on all the stamps. I love how it gets all the fine details in my stamping! I won't ever use another brand of ink again! I also used my all time favorite Gelly Roll Clear Star pen to make some stamps pop as well as EKSUCCESS Zig Memory System Ball 0.5 mm Archival Pigment Ink pens. I bought them years ago at Walmart and am surprised at how long they have lasted! I fussy cut the Glitz Wild & Free Drips paper with decorative scissors and then snipped the green/yellow drips to make them look like grass or ribbon and I decided to turn the paper on an angle instead of the traditional vertical look! Here are a few close-ups:

The bottom leaf on the left has some sort of writing etched in the leaf, but you can't really see it.
I used several different pens to get the "rustic fall" look!
I love how this pumpkin/jack-o-lantern turned out! I don't use my Copic pen very often and might look into buying more if there are some left. I heard at one time that they weren't going to be sold anymore, but I may be wrong.

This is a closer pic to show the details of the twine. I used a Craft Smart glue stick to get the twine to stick! I had to keep reapplying glue, because it dries quick, but luckily it was cool enough in the dining room that the glue finally worked! It was tedious, but once I cut the twine the length I wanted it got easier to work with! The outside was harder to do, because of all the turns, but like I said with practice I will get it!
This is the inside! The back of the Glitz Fabulous Front with Coordinating Back Wild & Free Arrows! The tag is gonna be where I write my message and I believe it is Basic Grey Pyrus Writer's Block Journaling Set and yes the ribbon is 3 Girl JAM (http://www.3girljam.com) Antique White crinkly ribbon! I won the pink and white bundle along with a sampler pack of muslin (sp?) bags that I can't wait to stamp and maybe giveaway for Christmas! I just received the rest of my blog prizes yesterday from their 2nd Anniversary blog hop. I didn't make anything yesterday, but was itching to make something with at least the ribbon today! Can you believe I made this card while watching Grey's Anatomy tonight and I still was able to understand it all! LOL! I actually just did the coloring while watching Grey's. I sure hope Webber doesn't die, but I have a feeling he will unless he has some miraculous healing! I started watching Parenthood and had to end up taping the end so my mom could go to bed and I saw bits and pieces of the NFL Browns./Bills game. I'm getting excited, because my sister is coming tomorrow afternoon and we're going out for Chinese as soon as she gets here! She's coming for the weekend, because Saturday we're having a retirement party for my stepdad that he's been planning for months! He arranged for the food and my mom has made sure everyone he wanted to come was invited. They aren't all able to come due to different things going on in their lives, but we do have at least 55 people coming! My mom and I bought the decorations about a month ago from The Party Place in Morehead City. My stepbrother is going to play music, people are gonna speak about memories of good times with my stepdad, and my sister, stepsister, a woman from the church and I are gonna serve the food. My aunt and grandmother are making cakes to bring- an Eclair cake and a Lady Baltimore cake cut in cake squares. My mom is making tea and banana pudding. I'm not sure of all the menu, but it sounds like it's gonna be good! I also had a job interview this past Tuesday at Roses and I pray I get the job! TJ Maxx has cut my hours back tremendously and 4 hours a week is not enough to get by on! It's enough to have very little cash and it's gone before I even have it in my hands it seems! If I'm hired at Roses, I will be working at least part of the day Thanksgiving Day. I had an interview with the asst manager and the store manager took his lunch instead of interviewing me. He was supposed to finish the interview, but I never saw him. He seemed to be a rude person, but I will see once I'm hired. Please pray I get the job! I haven't let TJ Maxx know about it yet and won't until after I'm hired and will still work with them. The asst manager even asked if I thought their would be a conflict of interest at Roses with TJ Maxx and I told her no. TJ Maxx is a lot busier! I won't be scrapping tomorrow, because I have to clean (barf) and be ready to go when my sister gets here around 4. We're setting up for the party tomorrow night and the church is having 2 other events on Saturday that we have to work around- a men's breakfast right before and then a memorial service/dinner for family afterwards. My mom had the church reserved over a month ago and the memorial service we can't really do anything about because no one can predict when someone is going to die and some of the family is from out of town is why they're waiting to have the service. She passed last Friday. I feel like I'm getting a cold, but I pray it's just allergies and the weather change. It's hot during the day here and cold at night. Anyway, I'm rambling. TFL and have a great weekend! It's gonna be a busy one for me is why I won't be attending Angela's class, but I hope some of you will and look at my previous post to see the details about it! Oh, I forgot to say that I'm entering this card in Miriam's Crafting Blog- 5th Monthly Challenge- Anything Goes Fall (http://miriamscraftingblog.com/1/post/2013/10/miriams-crafting-blogs-5th-monthly-challenge-anything-goes-fall-theme.html) that is going on until November 5th. :)
