Let the Sunshine In

I ma de this card to mail to a new pen pal using the sketch above from Stamp Ink Paper for Sketch Challenge #58. The challenge ends at 8:00 pm Sunday, July 31, so you still have time to play along!
I decided to flip the sketch horizontally and put the sentiment on the tag. I used Basic Grey Iris Vivienne Patterned Paper- both sides. The card is from that one sheet of patterned paper. The tag was manila and in my stash. I painted it with a combination of water, Shimmerz Vibez Jeni B Bleu and Razzledazzle Berry, Shimmerz Inklingz Pugnacious Purple, Shimmerz Celery Non-toxic paint, and Shimmerz Shimmeringz Goldie Lox- all from Spiegelmom scraps Scrap Shop, None of them are on sale anymore, but Jody has a lot more now! The paints are about a year old. I don't use them that often! The twine is from a Recollections lace and trim collection. The stamp on the tag- Let the Sunshine In, the sun, and the doll are all from Julie Nutting Cling Stamp Sunshine set. I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Professional Colored Pencils to color in the doll and the sun. I adhered the top half of the card and the doll on the typing paper with Scotch permanent tape runner. I used my Xyron X 150 Create a Sticker Maker to adhere my tag. I'm going to write a note on the inside and possibly add a piece of typing paper to the inside first since the inside is just like the pink strip on the front of the card. TFL!

Along the way today, you'll find card and gift ideas, a scrapbook layout page or two and even a couple great decorating ideas. We hope this hop gets you in the holiday spirit a little early this year. We'd like to say a HUGE THANKS to our sponsor today.

Email her at scrapsbygracie AT gmail.com with your order. All you have to do to win this fabulous prize is comment on each of the blogs. That's it! It really is easy. Of course, we would love it if you became a follower too. Comment buttons can be found at the bottom of the post (on most of the blogs).
Now on with the hop!
You should have come from SARAH's blog, but if you stumbled across my blog please start at the beginning at THERESA's blog.  I have a 2 page layout of the Christmas Candlelight Tour at Tryon Palace 2015 (this past Christmas) to share. Pictures are not allowed to be taken inside the Palace due to the rules of the site. I'll post more details after the first page.

The patterned paper is from Recollections Bright and Jolly 12 x 12" Christmas pad. The picture mats are Studio Calico 7Seven Paper Amelia.
Here's a close-up of the title- It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year- from Pebbles Home For The Holidays 12 x 12" Paper Pad.

Close-up of the journaling also from Home For The Holidays. The Pickled Brothers Circus was fun to watch! They performed a fire stick swallowing act & a juggling act. I added the fireworks picture overlooking The Palace on this page since they both deal with fire. The washi tape is from the same roll I used on my card from yesterday.
the photo mats on the second page are from Home For the Holidays as well
Close-up of the journaling. The journaling block is from Craft Smith Olde Time Christmas 6 x 6" paper pad. The horses were outside for guests to pet while waiting in line to tour the Palace. Their were also dogs inside the stables. I included a picture of an empty stable. The stables are usually used, but were used for Candlelight.
That's all I have for you today. You will go to JEARISE's blog where I'm sure she has something awesome to share again! Thanks for all the nice comments and stopping by!

Here is today's hop line-up in case you get lost along the way.

I made this card for a swap with a group on Facebook where we had to make a stationary box and include 5 cards of various seasons, birthday, or sympathy. The card base is Recollections A2 card base. The background paper is Craft Smith Olde Time Christmas 6 x 6" Paper Pad. The digital cutting file was a freebie from Lori Whitlock -- it's Kolette Hall Studio Look A Lot Like Christmas tree. It's not available right now, but she does have a few other freebies available. It might be available for a small fee. Feel free to check out her website, she always has some great files and scrappin' ideas to share. The washi tape is from my stash, I threw away the original packaging. Finger Lakes Region

I made the following layout using the sketch above from Paper Issues and the challenge ends August 1. You get the sketch from their blog and download the picture to their Facebook July Challenge Album. Now with the details on my layout.

I used Simple Stories DIY Boutique 12 x 12" No Worries pattterned paper. The star is a freebie from Paper Issues that I printed out on my printer and traced onto a 12 x 12 K&Company Que Sera Sera Designer Paper Pad. The confetti square and the Simply Amazing square (journaling) are both from Simple Stories DIY Boutique Freeze Frame Cardstock. The pink mat under the bottom of the pics is Basic Grey Vivienne Iris that I bought from Scrapbooking For Less. The mat for the title- Finger Lake Regions- is K&Company Amy Butler Designer Mat Pad and I used a pair of my decorative scissors to make the background look better. The pictures are of a waterfall and the side of a mountain beside it in Robert H Treman State Park in Ithaca, NY. I'll post more layouts from my visit to NY soon. Please come back Friday to hop along with me in the Christmas in July Blog Hop. It's a 2 day hop and is going to be awesome! TFL!
