Scraplift LO- Home Sweet Home
I made the bottom LO scrapliftting the above LO of Sandi's for the scraplift challenge with Scrappin-n-Chattin. I used Story Tellers Club Collection- Dad- paper, Basic Grey Pyrus 6x6 pad for the bottom pic mat, Authentique Gathering 6x6 paper pad for top pic mat, Recollections Butterfly Wings for middle pic mat, Basic Grey Oliver circle embellie, Home Sweet Home (title) & owl heart/gold hearts are Colorbok Home Page Kit, the journaling block/diamond strip/D Dad are StoryTellers Club Collection, and the arrow eyelets are Recollections. The pics are of my dad's house in Raleigh. It's kind of a coincidence that I made a LO of one of their houses today, because my stepmom was in a wreck this morning and totalled her car. She's ok, but sore. She was out looking for where her job was and how to get there from home. I'm a little shaken up after seeing the pics on FB, but am glad she was alone in the car and wasn't hurt! Please keep them in your prayers. I'm not sure if the accident was her fault. She was the one hit and thought she had a clear spot to turn. They just moved, my dad is unemployed, and she can't drive a stickshift. TFL!
Inspired by Picture Perfect Blog Hop
I participated in a blog hop (Picture Perfect Blog Hop) last night and was inspired to make a layout after following along! The requirements were to pick a picture either out of a magazine or a picture you took that inspired you and make a layout with it! I thought of this pic! It was inside a window in a shop in Beaufort, NC, and it caught my eye- "Me & My Ole Crab"! The journaling tag is from a purse I recently bought from Shoe Depot Encore for $6.50 in the clearance room! It's a Unionbay purse and has Unionbay on the back of the tag, but I loved this side and I thought I would use it in my scrappin! As the journaling states, "It reminds me of old couples!" I also included that I took the pic in Beaufort while shopping with family. I decided to make the title "ride the waves don't fight them" as an oxymoron to the pic, but old couples get in arguments and this saying reminded me that they can get through arguments. The crab is from a RAK that I just received from Suzanne last week. I decided to add Stickles to my embellishments! I had too much on the title, but rubbed it off. I see why I don't use Stickles that often- it's a mess! The paper is K&Company Addison Swirl Collage. I may be scrappin later so check my blog later tonight! :) TFL!

Love
I made this LO following the above sketch- Sketch 117 from Let's Capture These Sketches (http://letscapturethesesketches.blogspot.com/) and for the One Word Challenge at SNC. The One Word Challenge is to choose one word as your word for 2012 and title of your LO. I chose "Love", because I want to love like my Great Great Uncle Esper did when he was alive! He died this past October. This LO is of his 93rd birthday as the journaling states and that "He loved to kill & cooked hogs." The paper and all the embellishments except the title are Momenta/ATD Birthday Page Kit. The title is a Studio G Chipboard punch-out. I didn't do as much this page because I made this page late last night after I did the 24Hr Challenge LO. I'm also sick with a cold and wanted to get to bed to get some rest. I'm gonna try to get to bed earlier tonight since I have to teach Sunday School in the morning. I took a little over an hour nap this afternoon and enjoyed it! I might watch some of the Pro Bowl tomorrow night, but I plan on relaxing as much as I can tomorrow afternoon! TFL and try the sketch out! The next sketch will be posted next Friday. I don't know if they pick a winner. Have a good weekend! :)

Me & My Bro
I made this LO following the above sketch for SNC's 24 Hour Challenge. We each had to choose a sketch and a collection for someone else. Suzanne chose Sketch 1 & All About Boys for me! Thanks, Suzanne! :) Everything on this LO is from All About Boys Stack except the title, white/black polka-dotted ribbed, the ink for the journaling, and the blue patterned fabric! The picture mat is from All About Boys 8x8 pad, but the baseball, truck, star, ribbonlike paper at the bottom, journaling block, and the main background PP is All About Boys 12x12 Stack! The journaling states that Tyler is a "Chick Magnet" which is printed on his bib and that it's "Me & Tyler" and he's "8mos. July 2008"! He likes the Boston Red Sox baseball team, so I decided to use the baseball diamond and baseball squares for the journaling as well as the emphasis on the ribbon! He also loves to play with trucks or at least we'd like him, too! His aunt got him interested in playing with dolls and he's been pitching a fit if he doesn't get a girl happy meal toy instead of a boy toy. I'm hoping he outgrows it soon! He'll be 5 in November!! I'm going to see him tomorrow morning and I can't wait!! I need to get some recent pics of him so I can scrap thim! He's living closer now so that shouldn't be a problem! I may just take my camera in the morning! We're meeting at 9:30, so we might all be tired, but it's worth a shot! I'm gonna try to scrap one more LO before bed. I still have my stuff out, so why not! ;) TFL!

My Take on January Sketch Challenge @ SNC
I did this LO based on the above sketch for the sketch challenge at Scrappin-n-Chattin this afternoon (technically yesterday afternoon, lol)! I used Basic Grey Sultry PP; Basic Grey Sultry Element Stickers- the 3 strips behind the pics, the arrow, and the journaling strips; Recollections Splash for the title or it maybe Jolee's Boutiques; EK Success Rainbow- blue swirl on right; "like whoa!" is My Mind's Eye & a RAK from another prize with SNC from Suzanne; and the pink 8x8 paper is from an 8x8 birthday pad that I've had for so long that I honestly don't know the brand! The pics are from Group's Super Heroes VBS 2010 at Broad Creek Christian Church. The journaling states that "The kids were loving throwing the water balloons just as much as the sponsors were getting hit! LOL! Mr. Ray & Matt were the only ones taunting the kids on! The women's faces are priceless!" It's getting late and my brain is starting to shut down! LOL! I should have posted this earlier. My computer has been freezing up on me. I'm supposed to get a new cell phone tomorrow and wanted to read up on it to make sure I'm not going to hate myself for wanting it! I'm getting a Pantech Jest 2. It has a camcorder built it, so maybe I will be able to receive video messages! It's a lot smaller than any cell phone I've ever had so that's a plus! I better get to bed since I go back to work tomorrow! Please remember the family of Silas Recktenwald as he is laid to rest around 1pm. I attended the wake and the family was holding it together the best they could, but I'm sure the funeral will be a different story. It was good to see Jennifer's parents there supporting their son-in-law! TFL and don't forget to comment on my post about my blog candy if you haven't already! I will be choosing a winner either Friday or Saturday through Random.org! It just depends on my schedule on both days, so be checking back those days! Thanks again for supporting my blog! :)

150th Post Calls for Blog Candy!!
Before I get to the blog candy, I wanted to share my first SMASH book creation! I went to see Cupcake War at our local Farmer's Market Saturday morning and decided to do an entry in my SMASH book about it! The little cloth bag that I attached had earrings that I bought for $1! I tried drawing one and the drawing doesn't do them justice! LOL! I even made cupcakes with my sister and stepsister later that night and we decorated ours with chocolate icing & cream cheese icing both with sprinkles.
I was noticing last week that my next post was 150 and I decided I would give away some blog candy! I've been noticing a lot of people doing blogaversaries and have won a few blog prizes myself. So now is my chance to give back! ;) Here it is:
I decided to stick with the "pink" theme, because today a lady from my church had a double mastectomy done and all the cancer was removed!! The power of prayer is very evident! :) She was afraid the cancer could have spread to her lymph nodes. I also thought I'd add some cupcakes to celebrate my post and to go along with my Cupcake War festivities! Since Valentine's Day is around the corner I decided to throw in some Valentine's and Studio G is cheap, but cute! In order to win the blog candy, please comment and I will choose a winner thru Random.org. Please leave your e-mail address in your comment so I can get your mailing address. Thanks for your support and TFL!

It's OK Thursdays
I decided to link up to this blog.
It's OK...
... to be lazy cuz I'm off for 4 days straight because of retail payrole cut
... to take a walk in the breezy weather just to get out of the house for a few minutes
... to eat junk food, in moderation- M&M's Peanut Butter, Trolli Squiggles, Cheerwine, and Nabisco Nutter Butter cookies
... to enjoy TV Primetime Thursday- American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, & The Firm
... to sit at the computer at look at blogs for inspiration for scrapbooking
... to worry about what my paycheck will look like next week
... to hope for more hours next week
... to hope someone will see this and join in :)
I hope you all have a great Thursday! I saw this on another blog that I follow. It does help to get your worries out! :)

My Lighthouse Collection
I made this LO for Scrappin-n-Chattin's List LO challenge for this month. Since I love to collect lighthouse replicas I decided to do a page on them! The paper is Paper House Productions Minnesota Collage. They're website is http://www.paperhouseproductions.com/ and I found this in a pack of 5 at Big Lots for $1!! I love getting good deals and Big Lots is the place for that! :) The ribbon is American Crafts Peachy Keen; the flowers are Studio G Paper Flowers; the background paper behind the title, pic, and journaling is one Authentique Gathering 6x6 sheet; the gems/blue swirl are EK Success Rainbow ; and the anchor was from a RAK that came with a star fish, a shell fish, and maybe something else. I don't remember they were all in a little plastic baggy! The journaling states the names of the lighthouses "(From Top to Bottom & Left to Right): 1. Cape Canaveral, FL; 2. Cape Hatteras; 3. Ponce de Leon, FL; 4. Cape May, NJ; 5. Currituck Light (candle); 6. St. Simon's Island Light; 7. Ocracoke Light; 8. Cape Lookout; 9. Oak Island Light; 10. Bass Harbor Light- Bar Harbor, ME." The lighthouse plaque behind the last lighthouse in my journaling is a Bible verse: "To walk with Him is to walk in light. The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear?" Psalm 27:1.
Here's a close-up of it! It was a gift from my grandmama. Cape Hatteras is my favorite of all the lighthouses I have! It might be because of what this verse states that the Lord is our light and we shouldn't be afraid. Cape Hatteras has always fascinated me and I got a chance to see it after it was moved. I went at night to see it before it was moved and tried taking a pic and it was too foggy and the picture doesn't even show a lighthouse, but I know it was there! I decided not to make this LO as elaborate as most of my LOs, because of the paper.
I just received a call from TJ Maxx to inform me that the truck is cancelled for tomorrow which means I'm off until Sunday! It's good to be off, but not good for my pocketbook! I may do some scrappin again tomorrow. I know I'm gonna get my haircut and watch American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, & Private Practice! American Idol starts tonight at Savannah, GA! Let the laughs and singing begin!! Friday night is Special Needs Movie Night at my church, Saturday morning there's a Cupcake War from 8am-2pm at New Bern Farmer's Market. I want to go see the Cupcake War, because I love watching the show on the Food Network! I don't know if I'll be able to see all of it, because that's along time to watch and my BIL is flying to CT from NB that same morning to help my dad move! I can't wait to see my dad, stepmom, and Tyler next Saturday!! :) TFL!

Blog Candy Prizes
I received all this today in the mail from one blog hop! It's from 2 different people, thanks Lori & Natasha! I look forward to "playing with" the SMASH Journal! I also received the Authentique Gathering 6x6 pad from Amanda yesterday. The one thing I forgot to add to the pic was a patriotic set that Lori also included. I pushed it aside with other mail and found it after I took the pic! It's in its own wrap and wouldn't show up in the pic anyway since there's so much to it! I can't wait to use all of this in my scrappin! I'm looking forward to watching MoneyBall soon and then some football! I have been lazy all day and just watched FSU beat UNC. What a pitiful game for us Carolina fans! Oh, well, go 49ers & Patriots tonight!! LOL!

2 Doz Pumpkin Spice Goodies
I made this LO for Scrappin-n-Chattin's January MLC (Monthly Layout Challenge) based on the sketch and requirements above it. The striped paper is We R Memory Keepers Grandma's Kitchen Simple Stripes (there's some gray stripes on it but you have to look close), the bigger striped strip of PP is TPC Studio So Delish Stripe, the photo mat is Authentique Gathering from 6x6 Bundle (Thanks, Amanda for the blog prize :)), the "One of a Kind" diecut is part of Colorbok Home Page Kit, the pumpkins/leaves are Making Memories Autumn Spice, the gray/white designed ribbon is American Crafts Peachy Keen (one of 6 different strands- $1.99 @ TJ Maxx), and the red triangle photo squares were part of a RAK from blog candy of a blog I participated in. "For the Love of Cooking" is a part of a Recollections (?) sticker set I bought from Michaels. The journaling states that "Emily had just tried a cookie before I snapped the picture." The title is at the bottom and the "goodies" sticker is apart of a sticker phrase set I bought from either Walmart or Target. I used 3 different letter sticker sets for the "2 Doz Pumpkin Spice" part of the title. As you can see this LO should meet the qualifications above. :)

Loving You Is So Easy
I made this for Scrappin'-n'-Chattin's Checkerboard Challenge for this month. The paper is from All About Boys Stack 12x12. I put the pics in order counterclockwise to go along with the paper. The top pic is of Tyler at 8 mos sitting on my lap in July 2008 at Emily's house; the middle left pic is Tyler's 1st birthday Nov 2, 2008 after church at Capital City Christian Church in Raleigh, NC; the bottom pic is Tyler & Madison May 8, 2010 Mother's Day weekend at Roy's house, Tyler is 2; and the last pic is Landen & Tyler playing at Roy's house Thanksgiving 2010 just after his 3rd birthday. They're moving back to NC next Monday to Louisburg, Wake Forest area near Raleigh! I haven't seen them since Labor Day weekend and we're exchanging our Christmas presents when they come, too! I wanted the title to be Look How You've Grown, but like the title I chose instead. It's leftover from when I did Tyler's baby book. There's yellow hearts behind it, but they're very light and hard to see. I plan on doing another LO on Friday so come back and check out what I come up with! :) TFL!

Ringin In The New Year 2012
I made this 2 pg LO for Scrappin-n-Chattin's Vertical Challenge. The title had to be vertical where you have to turn the page sideways to read it, that's why both sides of the title are vertical. The title lettering are Basic Grey Oliver, the New Year's stickers are EK Sucess Jolee's boutique Auld Lang Syne, the Tangelo paper behind the title on both pages is Bazzill Basics Paper (Tangelo), the closer striped page 1 is Basic Grey Ambrosia/Tangy PP, the second page is Recollections Basics Orange Stripes, the journaling backgrounds are Basic Grey Life of the Party from 6x6 pad, the photo mats are RAK as well as the star & heart punches, and the blue swirly stickers are EK Sucess Rainbow. The journaling on the first page states that "Emily was cross-stitching & I was about to start my December Sketch Challenge LO!" The journaling on page 2 states, "Emily & I made Pumpkin Spice Cookies. We tasted them as they came out of the oven! Yummy!! Mama is laughing at Mr. Ray, because he found out there was cream cheese icing on the cookies. He hates cream cheese! Mr. Ray & Scott are sitting back, relaxing and watching Dick Clark's Rocking Eve special with Ryan Seacrest on TV." TFL!
