Happy Happy Happy Birthday

I made this card for Jason, my boyfriend that I just met about a month ago now on Plenty Of Fish. His birthday is this coming Saturday and even though the paper doesn't look masculine these are his favorite colors. The card base is Recollections A2. The paper is from K&Company 12" x 12"Que Sera Sera Double Sided Designer Paper that I cut down to fit the card. I cut it a little short, but it doesn't look that bad. The stamp is Stampabilities Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday and I used VersaFine Black Onyx Pigment Ink to stamp it on typing paper and I fussy cut the paper with decorative scissors. I'll include a mushy message before Saturday. :) He told me not to buy him anything, but I wanted to buy him something so I bought him Polo Blue Body Spray. He already has some Polo and I've told him that has always been my favorite men's cologne. He's a sweetheart and been single since 2009. He's been married before and his 3 grown children. The only child I might meet soon is his 20 year-old son that is mentally challenged that he is trying to get custody of soon. He lives in Jacksonville about 45 minutes SW depending on traffic. He's supposed to come see me Saturday and go to Mum Fest- an annual Fall Festival downtown New Bern- with me. I've never had a date go with me to Mum Fest so I'm excited! It was rescheduled because of Hurricane Matthew. TFL and come back tomorrow as I will be participating in a Techniques Blog Hop.

Rock On

I made this card for my brother, Tyler's 9th birthday. I used Recollections A2 card base. The paper is actually a photo mat that I cut down to fit the card from Creative Memories Discover Rock Grunge Additions Collection as are the 2 stickers. The collection may be discontinued since it was made in 2009 and the lady that gave me the Creative Memories goodies is no longer a Creative Memories Consultant. She brought what she had left to me and another friend at church to let us choose what we wanted! Sweet, right? I chose the rock paper, because I introduced him to Newsboys/Jesus Freak- originally a DCTalk song but they split and are in 3 different groups- on his 4th birthday. He loved it and played an air guitar in the car when he heard the song!

Okay, I felt like Lisa, she knows who she is,  when I made the inside! The marks should give her away if you follow her blog! LOL! I love you, Lisa! I used Stampin' Up Remembering Your Birthday, which is actually part of a stamp- "friends and fun and presents too! Happy Birthday", but I covered the friends and fun and presents too! part of the stamp with a piece of paper before stamping it on the card. Here's where I felt like Lisa, I stamped the sentiment/happy birthday vertical inside the card instead of horizontal! So, I added a piece of The Paper Company Assorted Cardstock Citrus Color Sheets 8.5" x 11" that I trimmed down to fit the card and then the second time I stamped it, I used a napkin and part of the friends and fun, yada yada, stamped on the paper. I was able to peel up the paper and try one more time! Third times a charm and it worked! I used Versa Fine Onyx Black pigment ink to stamp with. Luckily, Elmer's Craft Bond Permanent Tape Runner is not too permanent and didn't tear my card! I included a $15 Toys R Us gift card in his card since I wasn't able to see him this year for his birthday. He's moved to CT with his mom, my stepmom. My dad, sister, and I aren't happy about that since she decided to move with no notice until she had already made the decision. My dad is going to get a lawyer to file for joint custody of Tyler. He and my stepmom split last November, over a year ago now and I would appreciate any prayers anyone is willing to give up for my dad. TFL and have a great weekend!

Encouragement Card

I made this card for future use when I need an encouragement card. Both stamps are from Unity Stamp Company Eloise Girl set and I used Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink to stamp them on typing paper. I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Professional Colored Pencils to color in Eloise and the flowers. The card base is Recollecions A2. The washi tape is from Oriental Trading. The paper is from Colorbok Glam Girl 12 x 12 Designer Paper Pad that I bought from WalMart. That's it for today. TFL!

Princess Birthday

I made this card for the little girl, Telah,  I used to nanny for. She just turned 1 this past Sunday, so it was late, but better late than never! The card base is Recollections A2. The patterned paper is a piece from K&Company Que Sera Sera. The stamped images- inside and out- are from Close To My Heart Birthday Princess. I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Professional Colored Pencils to color in the princess and Versafine Black Onyx Pigment Ink to stamp both images. I included a $10 gift card from TJ Maxx since I know her mom loves to shop there and since I work there I know we have a lot of baby/toddler goodies! Oh, I almost forgot the bling- it's Studio G Self-Adhesive Gems. TFL and have a great weekend!

Happy Happy Birthday

I made this card for a friend who's birthday was this past Saturday. The card base is Recollections A2 cards. The patterned paper is a part of Bo Bunny 12" Serenity Dot. I tried to make the card look masculine so I didn't put much on the card and the paper is busy enough. I decided to use Stampabilities Happy Happy Happy Birthday stamp and Unity Absolutely Priceless Simple Stories Itty Bitty- hot air balloon stamp on a piece of American Crafts Seuss double sided 12"paper and used Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink on both stamps. His favorite football team is Carolina Panthers so the colors of the hot air balloon fit those colors. He also loves to see the hot air balloons that come over his house around this time of the year. His family doesn't do anything for his birthday and he does so much for them. I make it a point to make him a card every year. I was just a little behind this year. TFL!

Oh Happy Day!

I made the following layout using Sketch #217 from Sketches in Thyme as seen above.
The paper is Bo Bunny 12" Serenity Dot. The blue paper is from Colorbok Primary Pizazz 12" x 12" Textured Cardstock Pad, the doily was a RAK, the title- Oh Happy Day is from a journaling set from my stash, and the journaling tag is also from my stash.
close-up of journaling tag- May 7, 2016, both pictures were taken after Haylee's college graduation from UNCW. The picture on the left is of Mr Ray, my mom, Haylee, me, and Dustin. The picture on the right is of Dustin, Haylee, and Mr Ray. I decided not to add the top and bottom borders since the paper already has some border printed on it.

CASE a Card Blog Hop

Remember the old kids game, Telephone? You know the one where a secret is told to the first person in line and then they tell what they think they heard to the next person and they tell the next person and so on and so on. At the end of the line, the person says what they heard and the first person tells what they originally said and laughter erupts because the two things are nothing alike. Well today's hop plays that game, but with card making instead of secrets.
This hop is un-like any you've probably ever been too.
We took one card created by Alicia and sent it to the next blogger who then C.A.S.E.d the card (copy and steal everything) and sent her card on to the next blogger who C.A.S.E.d it and sent her card to the next blogger. You get the idea.
When you are done hopping you'll see how different or maybe how similar the last card is to the first.
You should have arrived here from (Theresa's blog). If you would like to start at the beginning visit Alicia's blog (http://goldengoddessdesigns.blogspot.com/).
We'd like to say a HUGE THANKS to our sponsor today.
Theresa is giving away a $20 Stampin' Up Gift Certificate to one lucky winner AND
take 10% off any order placed through her (not available on website) by September 30th.
Email her at scrapsbygracie AT gmail.com with your order.
All you have to do to win this fabulous prize is comment on each of the blogs.
That's it! It really is easy.
Of course, we would love it if you became a follower too.
Comment buttons can be found at the bottom of the post (on most of the blogs).
Now on with the hop!

I CASEd Theresa's card shown below. I went with the butterfly and the blue mist to create my card below hers.

I used Recollections A2 card base and added part of a 4" x 6" photo mat and part of a 6" x 6" Studio Calico Lemon Lush Paper, Recollections trim, and the embroidered floral applique is from The Vintage Rose Emporium. The word congratulations is from The Cutting Cafe Everyday Block Sentiments. I fussy cut it out of the wedding block. I'm going to use this card as a wedding card for my cousin and his bride in October. You can see the blue mist is a part of the paper at the bottom.
That's all I have for today. The next and last stop is Card A Day Challenge Blog.
Thanks so much for hopping with us! Here's the entire line up in case you get lost:
