It's Your Birthday

I made this card for a friend who's birthday is this Saturday. She's a big Indianapolis Colts fan, so I decorated the cake with their colors. I used American Crafts Bookshelf Seuss 12 x 12 Double Sided Patterned Paper. I have a few scraps left, but not much! I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Blendable Professional Colored Pencils to color/decorate the cake. I even wrote Colts at the bottom.
a close-up of the inside, I used a pair of decorative scissors to cut around the sentiment
a close-up of the back- I used Hero Arts Homemade from the Heart stamp- stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink and then wrote my initials and the year as my signature

I'm entering this card in Pretty Cute Stamps Let's Celebrate Challenge and this is the digital stamp set I used. The challenge is open until September 10 so please join me in the challenge.  I know this is a CAS (Clean And Simple) card for me, but the paper was busy enough that I didn't want to add anything else to take away from the paper. TFL!

Enjoy

I made this layout yesterday using Colorbok Paper Plus 12 x 12" Paper Pad for the title- Enjoy, and both the main background page, and the big umbrella page.

close-up of Oh Happy Day from Close To My Heart- I can't think of the name of the set right now that I stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink
close-up of journaling that I typed off the computer- Selfies of Brian, Emily, and I at Ft Macon State Park July 13, 2016
I thought I ran out of adhesive when making this layout so I used Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue Pen until I found another role of Scotch adhesive! I used my Xyron 150 to adhere the journaling. I used the umbrella in the background of the pictures for my inspiration. You can barely see it between Emily and Brian's heads. TFL!

True

I made the following layout for a Lift Challenge LIFT40 for Soul Scrappers- it's a private chat group, but has a lot of challenges and inspiration. New members are always welcome and you can tell them that I sent you! :)
Now for the details of my layout! I used Colorbok Primary Pizazz Textured 12 x 12" Paper- green- as the background paper and K&Company Que Sera Sera Patterned 12 x 12" Paper- cut it with my Recollections Paper Trimmer in 20 rectangles to make the pattern. It was hard to put together after cutting it up, but luckily I have the entire K&Company Paper pad and there's 2 other pages of the same design to follow like when putting a puzzle back together. The photo mat is also from the Colorbok pad. I wish I would have taken a close-up picture of the flower I used, but I didn't want to pick my layout apart any more than I did! The flower was a RAK and is from Webster Pages Pinwheels Fleurettes. The title, True, is from Carta Bella Cut-Outs- True Friends- Forever Friends Cards.
A close-up of the date. The date cut-out is from Authentique Classique: Elegant Components 6 x 12" sticker sheet- it is retired, but you can view it in the gallery. I have the 6 x 6" paper pad. 5-7-16 was the date of Haylee's college graduation from UNCW.
This is a close-up of the journaling- Haylee and Nikki- I wrote it with a black ink pen so it's a little hard to see. Haylee and Nikki are true friends since high school is why I chose the word true. I also included a Hallmark Peanuts Graduation sticker- Look Out World- just so there would be something graduation to go along with the picture. I must say this is totally out of the box for me since I'm used to covering the page with embellishments! The hardest part of this layout was putting the patterned paper back in the correct design order! TFL! I'm planning on making a birthday card or 2 this afternoon so I may have another blog post by the end of the night! :) Oh, I forgot to mention the LIFT challenge is open until September 21 if you'd like to play along!

Sail Away With Me Blog Hop

If the wind is right you can sail away and find tranquility...

Now that video should really set the mood for our trip across the water!  Sail away with us to view nautical creations of all kinds by our lovely line up of crafters.  Today's hop should be smooth sailing! If the sails were set correctly you should have arrived from JEARISE.  Should you veer off course the first stop on your hop is Alicia and she can get you back in the right direction.

Of course, we would love it if you became a follower too.

Comment buttons can be found at the bottom of the post (on most of the blogs).
Now on with the hop!
I decided to make a layout of myself standing on the edge of the ocean. The paper is from MAMBI/ Me & My Big Ideas Ocean kit as is the Relax sticker and the chipboard design at the top. The photo mats are Recollections kraft 4 x 6 stack collection. I bought the sequin trim from The Vintage Rose Emporium- it's a closed Facebook store/group, but I can request for you to join if you'd like. Kim's prices are reasonable and she sells some awesome scrap stuff! I used my XYRON Create a Sticker 150 to attach the trim and somehow it flipped when I ran it through. I decided not to include any journaling since the pictures speak for themselves. I would title the layout Down by the Sea Shore as imbedded in the bottom left corner of the paper.
Your next destination is KIM.  We hope your enjoying your journey!

If the currents have drifted you can find the full line up here:

UNCW Graduation

I made the following layout using the sketch above from Scrapping Everyday Miracles August Layout Sketch Challenge.
The paper is Reminsce Papers- Graduation Celebration- You Did It, the light blue border is from Martha Stewart Crafts Punch Pad and punched it with my We R Memory Keepers Lucky 8 Floral Burst Punch, the 3 flowers in the top left corner are punches from the light blue paper, the yellow photo mat is from Colorbok 12 x 12 Pimary Pizazz Textured Cardstock Pad, and the border pieces are from Page Accents Scrapbooking Memories Reversible Cardstock Borders. The title- UNCW Graduation is from 2 collections- the letters which stand for University of North Carolina at Wilmington are from my stash and graduation was fussy cut off of Reminsce The Graduate 12 x 12 cardstock. The colors of UNCW are navy, teal, and gold so I got the closest I could with the colors I used. That covers my layout! Please come back tomorrow to hop with me as I participate in the Sail Away With Me Hop. It's going be to a short, but fun hop! TFL!

Birthday SMASH Entry 2016

Here's this year's entry of my birthday cards SMASH entry in K&Company SMASH Eco Pad.
I decided not to add any background paper since I loved the peacock feather background. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampin' Up Remembering Your Birthday collection and I used VersaFine Onyx Black Fine Pigment Ink to stamp it on typing paper and fussy cut it with decorative edged scissors. The heart sticker and the banner sticker are from Echo Park Capture Life Element Stickers. I wrote on the banner the date of my birthday- June 27. The celebrate sticker is from a Recollections Birthday Dimensional Sticker Collection. The bottom image is from Unity Stamp Company & Phyllis Harris Always From the Heart stamp collection. I used VersaFine ink and typing paper again. I colored the image in with Spectrum Noir Essentials Blendable Professional Pencils. The envelope my cards are in is from K&Company SMASH.
close-up of the Unity stamp and the journaling- the journaling block is from Simple Stories Happy Day 6 x 6" Paper Pad and I attached it with washi tape from my stash- I forgot the name of the collection. TFL! Please come back later for a layout I just recently made.
