My Punches LO and some Scrappin' Goodies

Emily & Tyler

Tyler, Tammy, and my dad

Scrappin' Goodies from Carol

My Punches LO

My Grandmama Rhodes fell last Thursday and broke her left hip or so we thought. It turns out she broke her femur- the bone below her hip. The dr decided it would be too risky for her to have surgery due to her heart condition. She was moved to a nursing home this past Tuesday for rehab for about 8 weeks. The dr said the bone should heal on it's own and with physical therapy. My dad, Tammy, & Tyler came down for the weekend to visit and to see my grandmama in case anything happened Monday. Monday was when the surgery was going to be originally. I only took the 2 pics above while they were here. Emily was watching Tyler play Shark Tale on XBox in the first picture. I wanted a family picture of the 3 of them since the last one they weren't all looking at the camera. Tyler is a ham and is very smart for a 3 year old!! My granddaddy was in a car wreck last night and totalled  his car. He was hit by a drunk driver. He's bruised up from the air bag, but is ok. I hope he gets a new car out of the wreck at least! In my opinion, he doesn't need to be driving. He's in his late 80s and is feeble. He doesn't always wear his hearing aids so who knows if he wears them while he's driving or not!

The pic of the scrappin' goodies I received in the mail today. I was chosen as the "Tag You're IT" girl for the month of February for Scrappin-n-Chattin! I can't wait to scrap with them! I have to buy some goodies for another girl from the group for the month of March. That's the whole fun in the swap once you're tagged you have to buy something for someone else and so it goes! There is a price limit on how much you spend, but I need to check on that before I shop cuz I don't remember. I loved the card Carol made me and decided to take a pic of it as well!

The Punches LO is for Scrappin-n-Chattin for the month of February. It was originally going to be for a Baby Picture Layout Contest as well, but something happened to my e-mail. That's why I used one of my baby pictures. I made this LO in a hurry and decided not to add a lot of embellishments. TFL!

One of My Favorite TV Shows LO

I did this LO for Scrappin'-n-Chattin' (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/) (aka S-n-C) following the sketch above from My Sketch World (http://mysketchworld.blogspot.com/) on the Sketch-A-Thon Feb 5th post. I saw it someone else's blog and can't remember who's blog right now, but Googled My Sketch World and found the exact link! The Challenge for S-n-C was to make a LO of our favorite TV show (past/present) or use the title of our favorite TV show. I chose Family Ties since the pics are of my mom's side of the family playing basketball. As you can see, I tried to stick to the sketch, but changed it up a little. I decided to use 4 foam hands at the top instead of 4 dots since there's enough dots on the paper and basketball is all about hand/eye coordination! I wanted to put a bow by the title instead of a star to have something to go along with the title. I decided to add Skipping Stones Design ( http://skippingstonesdesign.com/) "Havin' a Ball" stamp instead of a stamp of a basketball since there's too many circles on the paper already. TFL!

Candy Shoppe Designs Feb Blog Hop MEME

                                                http://candyshoppedesigns.blogspot.com/
                                              http://leaveapapertrail.com/
Candy Shoppe Designs is having a blog hop the entire month of February as seen above and is sponsored by Paper Trail. They are offering the prize as seen above also. Each blog will have a question you have to answer that will equal 10 questions and you choose 3 questions to answer to be in the running for the prize. So, please join me in this blog hop!!
1. 4 Random Things About Me:
    * My favorite colors are red, pink, and purple. I tend to lean to purple the most! :)
    * I love scrapbooking and learning new ideas in this wonderful hobby. I would rather do the paper   scrapbooking over the digital, because I have so much of all the supplies and love using those edging/shape scissors!
    * I love listening to Christian music. I don't really have a favorite singer/band. I listen to http://air1.com/ when sitting here at the computer. They play the best & up to date Christian Alternative music!
    * I love baking or cooking myself breakfast! I made myself pancakes from scratch this morning! I used a recipe from http://www.cooks.com/ called Easy Pancakes. Here's the recipe, it's simple!
                                1 egg
                                1 C flour
                                1 tsp baking powder
                                1 tsp salt
                                1 C milk
Mix the first 4 ingredients together. Then add the milk gradually until batter is smooth. Pour batter on greased griddle to size desired. (I added a dash of cinnamon in the batter for extra flavor.)
I also like making cookies and have made a Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. I found the recipe for the cheesecake online and am willing to share it with anyone who would like it. Please leave me a comment and I'll e-mail you the recipe. It's very good and rich!

2. Have you ever met a celebrity?
I haven't ever really met a celebrity. I did meet Rich Mullins in 1993 at the North American Christian Convention (NACC) in St Louis, MO. I was there with my church Bible Bowl team for the Bible Bowl tournament. Rich knows our youth minister at the time, Kevin Spurlock. Rich just happened to walk by our team in the hall and looked at me and asked how I was. He might have shook my hand, I don't remember all the details. It was a casual greeting in passing. I also spotted him on the street while we were walking to The Gateway Arch in St Louis. My mom later had her picture taken with him for me, but the picture never developed. For those of you that don't know Rich Mullins died in a car accident in 1997. Rich was at the NACC to sing and gave a concert. He is a well known Christian artist. He wrote Awesome God, Hold Me Jesus, and Sing Your Praise to the Lord, just to name a few.

3. Is there somebody out there that you once knew or still know that you never got around to sharing your true feelings to? Who is this person and what would you say to them if they were standing in front of you at this very moment? The only guy I can think of that I wish I would have married, but turned down is David Haslach. We dated in high school our 10th and 12th grades. He went on the Army/National Guard after we attended Johnson Bible College together for a few years. He proposed to me while we were in our first semester at JBC and I turned him down because I wasn't ready to get married. He did end up marrying a woman and has children with her. If he was standing in front of me and wasn't married, I would tell him that I would marry him. I pray that one day God will send another guy in my life that I can eventually marry. I guess David was my first true love. I still have dreams about him on occasion like we're still dating.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my answers to the MEME. Please join me in this blog hop and link up your blog to the Candy Shoppe Designs blog! Have a great Wednesday! :)

The Paper Variety Challenge/Super Bowl

I made this card thinking I could enter it into the Unity Sketch Challenge, but I didn't use any Unity stamps on this card. I did follow the sketch, however. The Paper Variety (http://thepapervariety.blogspot.com/) is using the hearts picture as an inspiration for this week's challenge. I have some pink & purple on my card, so I think it qualifies! I made the card for a family (Chris & Trisha Michael) who's baby was just born a few weeks ago without a palate, her jaw is off set, has kidney problems, and now has a trach tube to help her breathe. Please be praying for Allison and her parents! Trisha's dad is a member of my church and her grandfather used to be the preacher, also. The quote on the front states, "Of course I can do anything I'm a mother." (author unknown) I also used a teddy bear punch for the 3 teddy bears at the top of the pink gingham square. There's also pink, blue, and green in the heart, flower, and butterfly stickers at the bottom. The gingham square is party of my goodies from Nikki, In Stitches (http://nikkiinstitches.wordpress.com/). The inside I chose stickers "adore", "Congrats!", "baby", a rub-on "God's Blessing", "Luv Ya!", and another saying "cute as a button" to decorate the card with. The quote on the front and "cute as a button" I put through my Xyron Create a Sticker maker to get them to stick without using glue or double-sided tape! I love that sticker maker!!

I hope everyone has a great Super Bowl Sunday! I'm rooting for the Steelers in memory of Grant Gable, who died this past Wednesday morning. He was a huge Steelers fan! His memorial service was Saturday and went very well! He was a diabetic and was only 49, but loved others and didn't mind helping others whenever he could! I start back with TJ Maxx at 4 and am working until 8:30, so I'm going to miss half the Super Bowl. I plan on watching as much as I can when I get home! Hopefully Steelers will be well in the lead by then!! TFL and have a great day! :)

A Day At the Beach

I made this card for a swap yesterday and am just getting around to blogging about it. I'm entering this card in  The Sisterhood of Craf...
